The Venus flytrap is easily the most widely recognized and best known carnivorous plant. With their fanged, gaping traps, there’s nothing else in the world quite like these delightfully freaky plants.

Review: Quality And Quantity - They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I posted 4 to help you decide. The plant in the green bowl in the square container is the flytrap that I bought from this seller (Predatory Plants). The pitiful looking flytraps in the orange and blue bowls are ones that I purchased online (at Pet Fly Trap) for close to the same price possibly more. The picture of the single flytrap in the small round pot is the same one that is in the blue bowl in the other picture close to about a month earlier. As you can see it arrived very small with a few dead parts. I was pleasantly surprised with the B-52 venus flytrap that I received from this seller on here (Predatory Plants) the heads on the flytraps were very large, robust, and healthy with tons of colorful traps/heads. The plant root ball was damp and carefully hand wrapped and it came with more than a generous amount of quality planting media along with a nice sized square pot (and not the crappy round kind that you get from some sellers) . The instructions that came with the plants were detailed, clear, and understandable. There is even a referenced video that you can check out if you get stuck. I will definitely keep them as my 1st go to for future carnivorous plant purchases. Update 8/12/2020 Original flytrap that I bought is still very much alive and doing extremely well even in the Texas heat and new growth has even appeared. I was so impressed that I ordered 2 more one more for myself and one for some friends. I just keep the distilled water in the bowls constantly not letting the plants dry out and both plants seem to be thriving. Still extremely happy with purchases.
Review: Good quality plant - I got this for my son since his last one died on us. This one was much bigger and healthier then the other supplier we used. In one month it outgrew the little container and we needed to replant. After replanting it is doing well and grew even more wide. Has some small heads and huge heads. It ate a few house flies and other then that we feed it the gel type food, which seems to help too. It spit out a spider without digesting it, so I guess he hates those, but anything else it caught, or we fed him he accepted. Overall good flytrap. Arrived healthy and with good instruction. Lots of extra planting material if you need to replant, we did supply a little carnivorous plant soil on the bottom if the bigger pot so he didn't sit so low. But they packed it in an ample amount of moss.

## Features

- LIVE ADULT PLANTS: Each plant is fully grown and comes with a live arrival guarantee.
- NO SOIL REQUIRED: Each plant is shipped in a moss plug and enough sphagnum moss to pack the pot.
- UNIQUE POTTED PLANTS: Grow outside in bog garden set-ups, and in traditional pots and planters.
- WARNING: Flytraps require winter dormancy. Leaves turn brown/black & die back. This is normal.
- GREAT CHRISTMAS OR BIRTHDAY GIFTS: These plants make cool gifts for men, women, boys, and girls.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I just ordered mine, do they all come dormant?**
A: Flytraps normally go into dormancy during winter where all the leaves and traps go black (and should be removed) - but this is for outdoor flytraps - I don't think my indoor ones know when to grow dormant but two of mine are right now or they are just dead LOL. This would be a valid question to the seller. BTW these are -by far- the most difficult carnivorous plants to grow -- I wonder why I keep trying. My longest living one was dead by about 6 months after purchase. You might take a look at pitcher plants - especially the ones that grow LARGE pitchers - they don't do it often, but when they do they are amazing looking. My last one lived several years and only died after producing about 7 pitchers at the same time, which I likely overfed in my excitement. When they are without pitchers - they just look like normal houseplants. Make sure you buy a species that produces large reddish pitchers and only feed a couple. Nearly all have green leaves so those carnivours can feed themselves through photosynthesis just like other plants.

**Q: Does it come with venus fly trap or do i have to plant the seed to make the venus fly trap**
A: Mine came with the “fly traps” growing as plants not seeds

**Q: How long will it grow in the small pot provided before it needs to be transferred to a bigger pot. Or does it stay small indefinitely**
A: My plant died after a month. The pot was a small plastic temporary pot. I had repotted it to a larger one and followed the directions provided by the seller

**Q: Can you grow with other vfp’s**
A: yes our planting has 3 different types.. this one is the smallest and slowest growing.

### ⭐ Shows up half dead... and NOT in a pot, no instructions. Mine never revived.
*by S***9 on March 15, 2023*

The listing even says it comes in a 3" pot, but that was not the case. It showed up wrapped in plastic and peet moss, not planted in a pot, and "sleeping" or dormant. The instructions are minimal and it says you have to plant it (no clear instructions as to how best to plant it, the soil to use, etc) and to trim the black pieces off. Well, half of it was black. So we planted it in fresh soil in a pot. I read online they likes drainage and sandy soil, to keep it wet and they are ok with direct sun. We live in Florida so I made sure it didn't get the hottest part of the sun, though. The thing just continued to wilt and die, it never "woke" up or revived. That was a waste of money. I missed the return window by a couple of days because I was trying to see if it would revive.
