Instead it looks more like oak. Nevertheless, it is well made and attractive with brass end caps and mounting brackets. It truly is a piece of art. After installing it, I realized that it was a little longer than I wanted and that I would have to cut it down or replace the end caps. I called the company and found out that they have shorter end caps that I could use. They even sent them to me free of charge. This fixed the problem. The people at promenaid are so nice and helpful.
