Review: Easy and fun to do - make sure that the lid and wire mesh insert are rustproof. - I am using this mason jar to sprout broccoli seeds. I have been growing the little sprouts for about 5 days - very easy to do the sprouting - my first time ever. Most of the seeds have germinated. Most important to me is that the stainless steel lid and cover do not rust - I bought this Natural Roots mason jar because of the assurance that it would not rust. So far so good, but, as I said, I’ve only been using the jar for 5 days. Fingers crossed that it will remain rust-free. I did need to buy - from a different company - a jar holder, so that the jar is slanted at a 45’ angle for easy drainage.

I am using this mason jar to sprout broccoli seeds. I have been growing the little sprouts for about 5 days - very easy to do the sprouting - my first time ever. Most of the seeds have germinated. Most important to me is that the stainless steel lid and cover do not rust - I bought this Natural Roots mason jar because of the assurance that it would not rust. It works well and came with good directions. The price is a little high for a wide mouth mason jar and lid (even if the cap is a strainer). But it got me started and since I have many large wide mouth mason jars I just ordered sprouting lids as I needed more. Obviously if you are going to sprout and consume sprouts daily you will need at least 4 jars . That gives you enough to eat while the next batch is sprouting .
