The Personal 911 air horn is proudly made in the USA! :) **Q: What do have to do to make this air horn work?** A: Unless it is defective, just attach the horn part and press the top button. If you do not attach the horn, it still makes a high pitched sound. I use it both ways to alter the sound. I have 2 yorkies. There is a den of red fox in the woods behind me and Mamma fox runs at the sound. If you cannot get it to work, I would say it is defective. There is one on line that is a tad bigger and just a few dollars more. It works well, also. Wally World sells them in the boating/ sporting goods section. **Q: What is the shelf life of this air horn if it is not used right away? Thank you!** A: The Personal 911 like all air horns is considered an aerosol product. As a manufacture we usually say 1 to 3 years. However, for the most part the shelf life of the horn is as long as It's container will hold the propellent in. That could be longer even much longer. Especially with telemarketers! *by on Reviewed in the United States March 24, 2017* This is a great little air horn. First the negative: It is small, so it does not have a long life span. Now all of the positives: It is small, so it can easily fit anywhere. It is as loud as the larger air horns. It is very effective with telemarketers.I was receiving 3 to 5 telemarketing calls every week to my cell phone, for about 5 different types of products and services. Every time they called, I asked to be removed from their list, but to no avail. Then, for the entire month of September, every time they called, I told them not to call me back or I would have to take drastic measures. Enter $6 Safety-Sport Personal 911 Air Horn. Beginning in October, when I received a phone call from a telemarketer, I would begin speaking to the telemarketer, and gradually lower my voice to a whisper. Then 'BWWWAAAAAHHHHH' goes the air horn. Some of the responses were yelps, hang ups, and things that are not suitable to post in this review...but I had warned them. In November, I had fewer than 10 telemarketing calls...and I have not had any in 2017. The negative that I listed above was not a negative for me. It lasted long enough to rid me of all of my telemarketers, and there is still a little juice left, but not much.
