It's hard to say because they're contoured and the thickness probably is greater away from the edges. As someone who's subject to blisters because of the shape and narrow width of my heel, I'd say give them a try. They prevent rubbing at the heel not only by cushioning the foot but by filling the shoe (but just a relatively tiny bit). **Q: Sizing - men's. packaging says it goes to men's size 11 - i wear an 11.5. will these be ok or do i have to search for a larger size?** A: Hi, Achilles Shield vertical insoles are recommended for use up to size 11 shoes. Any larger, and the vertical portion of the insole is not likely to reach the top of your shoe heel counter. We plan to release a larger size in the future. You can still try them in the meantime since they will offer some resistance and spacing even if they don’t come up all the way. You can always request a return if it doesn’t work. **Q: are they available in larger sizes? I wear size 14 shoes and always wear our the heel area which in turn makes my heel sore.** A: Hi, size 11 is the max.
