**Q: How many quarts of this to get 3 inches in my 5.5 gallon aquarium?**
A: This 8 quart bag is a perfect fit!. Given a standard 5.5 gal tank is 17 L x 9 W x 11 H. If you want 3 inches, then change the height to 3. You need 17*9*3 = 459 cubic inches. 1 US quart is equal to 57.75 cubic inches, therefore you will require 459/57.75 = 7.94 quarts to fill your tank 3 inches.

**Q: Will plants grow in this substrate?**
A: My plants are doing fine in my tortoise table.  You may want to fertilize/feed them from time to time. My table is a closed habitat to keep humidity up for my baby tortoises so the substrate doesn't dry out often. When it does, though, I just dump more water in there.

**Q: Does this work well for Salamanders?**
A: Yes, this would work great!

**Q: Will it harden**
A: Does not Harden great stuff!
