It has a smaller diameter shaft / thread, but it was easy to find a different diameter ball with the correct diameter shaft / thread. This enables use with trailers having different diameter ball requirements. I use it for both a 1-7/8 inch ball size trailer as well as a 2" just by swapping the ball. Thankfully the tow dolly it self wasn't damaged. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works for what we needed, decent frame, Poor Machining and Bearings — Needs Rework *by N***K on December 25, 2025* We used this dolly to pull a ~4,000 lb fish house on the lake behind a four-wheeler. The frame is solid and the welds look decent, and from a strength standpoint the dolly does work for this application. The issues are with machining and components. There was paint on the wheel spindle diameters where the bearings are supposed to slide on. The paint prevented the bearings from sliding over the spindle and had to be sanded off. One axle had the cotter pin hole drilled off-center, making it impossible to install the cotter pin once the castle nut was installed. One spindle also had thread issues that required filing before the castle nut would thread on. The factory bearings are very poor-quality unsealed ball bearings. The wheels do have grease zerks and are intended to be greased, but even with grease the bearing quality is insufficient for real use. After about ½ mile of slow-speed operation, both wheels were shedding metal, one bearing shield was crushed from the factory installation, and one grease zerk fell out. I replaced all bearings with sealed bearings (6005-2RS, for reference), which resolved the issue and eliminates the need for greasing. I recognize this is one of the least expensive dolly options on the market, and to some extent the overall quality aligns with that price point. That said, the dolly works, but it would not last long with the original bearings and machining defects.
