I typically use Southern Ag non-Ionic Surfactant to help the chemical stick to the grass when sprayed which can be found on Amazon, and purchase by the gallon. Don’t use around plants grown for seed production. My strong suggestion is go to the Agrisel website and pull up the product label before purchasing. Different grasses, vegetables, non grassy ornamentals, etc have different requirements. For example, if used around sugar maples - you can’t draw sap for at least a year. Some tolerant plants may be harmed at certain stages. I recommend to always go to the manufacturer website before purchasing. It’s not anyone’s fault but your own if you buy, and it’s not what you needed. To correct a couple of the other answers, it is labeled for use around many vegetables but you have to follow strict application instructions including how much time between spraying and harvest, and how much is applied per year. Each vegetable has its own PHI time for example tomatoes are minimum 20 days between application and harvest, sunflowers will be 70, succulent sweet type peas will be 21, dry onions/garlic, shallots will be 45, strawberries are 4, leafy greens will be 14, etc.. The list is long and as you can see the range is broad depending on how it grows, is harvested, etc. This product only kills grasses, it does nothing for broadleaf weeds which is why it won’t affect mature clover and other legumes. It is also best not to tank mix with broadleaf weed killer but to wait at least 24 hours before spraying for broadleaf weeds. Personally I like to wait at least 48-one week. Note, there are restrictions reapplication and how much can be used per acre per year. When spot spraying or spraying small areas, it is critical to be careful or you will exceed these limits. This product requires a non ionic surfactant for use around ornamentals, and a crop oil for use around just about everything else — see label. Read the label, and find your plant. It lists the plants which are sensitive ie you can use it around (will be killed), at what height to spray, the dose, harvest time, amount per year. It also lists the plants which are tolerant to the product (doesn’t kill). This product causes environmental dangers and can not be disposed of or allowed to run or drift to any bodies of water including creeks, etc nor any sewers or drains. Care must be used so drift or contact doesn’t contact people, pets, etc. must use PPE equipment and change before eating/drinking and wash separate from other clothing and not where it will be disposed of in household or business sewer/drains. You must always read and check the labels for all herbicides, fungicides, insecticides. Even if the same active ingredient— it may be a different strength/concentration, or have proprietary ingredients that make application and disease different. Also search internet in general for product name and you will find it cheaper and in larger sizes. **Q: How many ounces per gallon should I use in my sprayer?** A: One oz/gallon sounds heavy. The label says 6-8 oz/acre. I assumed 7 oz/acre divided by 43,560 sq ft/ acre = .00016 oz/sq ft. If you need to spray, say, 500 sq ft, then you should put .08 oz (.00016 x 500) in your sprayer - so, a wee amount. How much water? Presumably as much as you think you'll need to adequately cover 500 sq ft (in this example). Using more than needed is harmful to the environment, your property/plants and possibly your health.
