A: So, if your iPhone has an audio output plug you'd need a "Smartphone / PC Combo Jack Mic & Headphone Splitter for iPhone, Tablets".  That'll provide access to a microphone plug.  I'd try one dynamic microphone first. Then using a splitter cable or mixer, try multiple microphones.

Converted two channels of incoming balanced line level audio on XLR cables to two channels of unbalanced audio on a stereo mini plug. Exactly what I needed to get the house audio mix at an event into my mirrorless camera. This cable DOES NOT reduce line level to mic level. My camera can accept line level stereo mini input. So be aware of this and don’t buy this cable for that purpose.
