Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, these rods produce consistent sparks without the need for fuel or batteries, performing reliably in all weather conditions. With 8 rods per pack, they offer long-lasting fire-starting capability, making them an essential tool for camping, hiking, hunting, and emergency preparedness. ## Description We are dedicated to creating and developing high quality products for outdoor enthusiasts. Our ferrocerium rod is made from mischmetal, an alloy that produces sparks when strike. It requires no flints, lighter fluid, batteries or replacement parts. They never have to be re-supplied and they don’t jam, get damp, or fail like matches and butane lighters. Usage Directions √ Remove the coating, the ferro rod comes with a paint of coating that prevents oxidation √Prepare effective tinder, such as cotton balls, jute twine, sisal fiber, very fine organic fibers, dry grass and tissue etc. √ Scrape some ferro powder on tinder, use the scraper, angle the scraper at about 45-degree angle. Place the end of the rod right next to the tinder, place the scraper on top of the rod and drag the rod back. If you whittle the scraper, you may bump your tinder away from the sparks. √ Put it in a ziplock bag after you use it so the moisture doesn't get to it. In Many Situations, Whether you are hunting, camping, fishing, biking, hiking or just like to be prepared, our fire starter prepares you for the unexpected. In Any Conditions √ wet √ rain √ shine √ snow √ fallout Review: Great - Sparks just fine Review: Everyone should have these - Makes starting a survival fire so easy. I drilled holes in them and attached some Paracord lanyards. I put them everywhere. One in every vehicle, hunting pack, camping gear, and where ever else I could think of that I might need to have one. They even made great gifts. I will be buying more just to make some more gifts. I have also used the crap out of a few of them practicing and teaching my nephews. They will hold up to A LOT of strikes. ## Features - HIGH QUALITY FERROCERIUM ROD: The fire steel rod is the perfect balance between softness & durability, consistently outperforming the leading fire starters ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07WCVLW4S | | Best Sellers Rank | #127,614 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #128 in Fire Starters | | Brand | FOSTAR | | Brand Name | FOSTAR | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 235 Reviews | | Flavor | Natural Wood | | Item Form | Stick | | Manufacturer | FOSTAR | | Manufacturer Part Number | DMZ7001 | | Material | Ferrocerium Alloy | | Material Type | Ferrocerium Alloy | | Model Number | DMZ7001 | | Scent | Natural Wood | | Scent Name | Natural Wood | | UPC | 647336473186 | | Unit Count | 8 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** FOSTAR - **Flavor:** Natural Wood - **Item Form:** Stick - **Material:** Ferrocerium Alloy - **Unit Count:** 8 Count ## Images ![FOSTAR 8PCS Survival Ferro Rod Flint Fire Starter Rods, 5/16 X 3.15 Inch Magnesium Fire Steel Rods - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61+bbx71bwL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great *by P***N on April 30, 2026* Sparks just fine ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everyone should have these *by J***N on August 15, 2024* Makes starting a survival fire so easy. Sparks a flying!! *by M***Y on November 13, 2024* My daughter uses this to scare people as a Haunt slider. She glues them to her gloves and they spark great when she slides down the walkways scaring people. We don't start fires with them, but for what she does they are a great product!! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/161745057-fostar-8pcs-survival-ferro-rod-flint-fire-starter-rods-5](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/161745057-fostar-8pcs-survival-ferro-rod-flint-fire-starter-rods-5) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
