The VW ones are sized perfect where when the hatch is raised, the cover tilts up with it. These are way too long so that even when opened the cover stays in the "down" position. Easy fix to tie a big knot in the excess strap material, cut below and use a lighter to melt it a little to make sure the knot stays....but wouldnt have to do that if attention was used to just copy the exact length of OEM product during manufacturer.
