The author describes the way to have a proper fear of God and through God's attributes show us that it is a must for all believers. He also describes how to live this fear in a biblical way for the Christian to grow in faith and enjoy the presence of our God. This is an excellent study (even with a very good study guide included) about this very forgotten topic. Another excellent resource is 'The Forgotten Fear...' by Albert N. Martin. One of the chapter titles is 'The Soul Of Godliness'.Jerry Bridges believes (as do John Murray and I)that 'The Heart And Soul Of Godliness' is the fear of God.-Mr.Bridges quotes John Murray "The fear of God is the soul of godliness.That is,the fear of God is the animating and invigorating principle of a godly life."
