I have a nightlight in my hall where I want to place this unit. Thanks** A: No it will fit in the bottom leaving the top for your night light **Q: can it detect levels of 20,30 or 40 ppm of CO? I know alot can only detect 70 ppm of CO or above...but I'm concerned of a small CO leak of below 70.** A: This unit probably detects CO at less than 30 ppm, but is not allowed to display that level unless a button is pushed. In this case, the peak level the alarm detected since last reset is what will show, not the current ambient level. From 30 to 70 ppm, the display can show the ambient level, but the alarm will not sound until it's been in that range for 30 days, as mentioned. At 70 ppm, the alarm is not to sound for at least an hour, and no more than 4 hours. That's UL requirements, which most codes across the US adhere to. **Q: Why would anyone buy a 2-pack for $75.23 when they can buy two 1-packs for $59.94?** A: I'm going out on a limb here but a two pack includes two detectors for 75.23 a single is 59.94. So if you want two of them you can pay 75.23 or 120.00 I have no idea why someone would spent 75.00 when they could spend 120 for the same items. Hopefully someone will be able to answer this question. **Q: Does this alarm work when using an extension cord or must it be plugged directly into a wall outlet?** A: The instruction booklet that came with my First Alert carbon monoxide alarm (I do not know if I bought a "model C0615" -- my alarm has NO identifying alpha-numeric) informs me that there IS an extension cord already on the back of the alarm; it also tells how to access it. I unplugged my alarm from the outlet, turned it back-side-up and true enough the 2 pronged plug you use to plug it into the electrical outlet is part attached to a lightweight extension cord that I would estimate to be about 4 or 5 feet long. The instruction booklet says that is for use by those who want to remain standing and look at the alarm "face-to-face." Has backup batteries ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally died after 7 years *by P***S on May 16, 2025* Honestly I should have replaced this as a precaution 2 years ago but it was sure to let me know when it stopped working with 3 beeps and an error message. Time to retire it for a new one! I only had to change the batteries maybe 4 times over the past 7 years. It stayed plugged in and hung on the wall about waist high. Changing batteries and testing it periodically was super easy. It was VERY loud, I could hear it from anywhere on my main floor. Did have one instance where we panicked bc it went off only to realize one of the kids leaned something against the device and it compressed the test button (which has to be pressed and held for more than 3 seconds so this was like a freak incident where it was perfectly leaning against it lol). All in all, great quality. Pretty sure if it failed I'd be dead, so there's that.
