It protects against discoloration, rust, stains, and scale buildup, dosing precisely at one quart per 10,000 gallons. Ideal for seasonal use and ongoing maintenance, it ensures crystal-clear water and extends the life of your pool plumbing and surfaces. ## Description This product helps prevent discoloration of pool water due to iron, calcium, manganese, copper and other metals and minerals which may be present in the water supply. This product is an excellent general purpose sequestrant which helps protect plumbing and pool walls from rust, stain and scale. It should be used for all pool openings and closings and throughout the season as needed. For initial filling of pool, if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected, add one quart of Metal Free for each 10,000 gallons of pool water. Add Metal Free while the pool is being filled and before chlorine is added. To correct an existing colored water problem (due to the presence of minerals in the pool water), first close the pool to all swimmers. Leave the filter pump running. Stop chlorinating the pool and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Lower the pH of the pool water to 6.8 with pH Lower, lowering the pH will re-dissolve the metallic impurities. Add one quart of Metal Free per 10,000 gallons of water and allow the pool water to circulate overnight, or until the water is clear. Re-adjust the pH of the pool water between 7.2-7.8 with pH Rise. Begin normal chlorination and pool operation. Swimming may resume when chlorine residual is 1.0-3.0 ppm. To make up for loss of Metal Free due to backwashing and/or splash-out, add one quart of Metal Free for each 20,000 gallons of pool water, once each month. ## Features - 1 quart per 10,000 gallons of water - Helps remove and prevent calcium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, nickel and silver - This product helps prevent discoloration of pool water due to iron, calcium, manganese, copper and other metals and minerals which may be present in the water supply - This product is an excellent general purpose sequestrant which helps protect plumbing and pool walls from rust, stain and scale - It should be used for all pool openings and closings and throughout the season as needed ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00J3JMF9I | | Best Sellers Rank | #21,499 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #30 in Swimming Pool Stain Removers | | Brand | Pool Mate | | Brand Name | Pool Mate | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,450 Reviews | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Highlight | Pool Stain and Mineral Inhibitor, Stain Remover, Easy to Use, Works Fast, 1 quart per 10,000 gallons of water, Made in USA | | Item Type Name | Pool Stain Remover | | Item Weight | 2 pounds | | Manufacturer | Robelle Industries | | Manufacturer Part Number | 1-2550 | | Model Number | 1-2550 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Package Size Name | 1-Quart | | Product Benefits | Prevents metal staining and discoloration, removes metals from water, protects pool plumbing rust scale Product Benefits Prevents metal staining and discoloration, removes metals from water, protects pool plumbing rust scale See more | | UPC | 676215211564 | | Unit Count | 32 Fluid Ounces | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Pool Mate - **Item Form:** Liquid - **Item Weight:** 2 pounds - **UPC:** 676215211564 ## Images ![Pool Mate 1-Quart Concentrated Metal Out, Pool Metal Remover - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61QqUQ7YdNL.jpg) ![Pool Mate 1-Quart Concentrated Metal Out, Pool Metal Remover - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/616gjXaQBnL.jpg) ![Pool Mate 1-Quart Concentrated Metal Out, Pool Metal Remover - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71n-4y1SHsL.jpg) ![Pool Mate 1-Quart Concentrated Metal Out, Pool Metal Remover - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61uCLp12ZrL.jpg) ![Pool Mate 1-Quart Concentrated Metal Out, Pool Metal Remover - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71qAPaQyAKL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: what are the ingredients?** A: According to the MSDS I have for it, it contains the same active ingredient that's used in many of the top brands, HEPD, which is the preferred metal sequestrant of many of the TroubleFreePool.com gurus.
