## Description

Ground Buzz Is a Thing of the Past The Radial IceCube is a balanced line-level isolator that quickly and easily eliminates buzzing from your audio system. Simply by plugging it in between two line-level devices, you'll be rewarded with a hum- and buzz-free audio experience. Audio engineers at Sweetwater admire how easy the IceCube makes it to insert an isolation transformer into their signal paths. This isolator comes loaded with a custom USA-made Eclipse transformer that provides a robust low end. Designed to work easily within the -30dB to +15dB range, the IceCube will have no problem handling balanced and unbalanced devices without any distortion. This makes the IceCube an excellent option to use when you can't sacrifice your audio quality. For all your ground buzz issues, Radial's IceCube IC-1 is the solution.Radial IceCube IC-1 Balanced Line Isolator Features: XLR input and output Ground Lift disconnects PIN-1 on the XLR

Review: Eliminates most cases of ground buzz and hum - Solves a frequent problem of ground hum, when you run XLR to a faraway powered speaker, plugged in to another outlet. Leaves the signal strong, unlike a direct box that converts a line level signal to mic level. Smaller than I thought it would be. Built to last, like everything of this brand. This is the sort of thing I don't want to pinch pennies with, and buy the lowest cost model. The quality of the transformer inside is the most important element.
Review: Fixed my USB related ground loop issue - I had a ground loop that did not look like a typical ground loop. Was definitely related to a usb port in the computer, so it was not a "classic" 60 Hz humm, but it was some high pitched static noise. The intensity of this noise depended on the movement of the mouse and other computer activities. At first I tried to cure it with a usb ground loop dongle which did not work at all. This IceCube fixed the problem. Enjoying clean sound! Used Radial DI boxes a lot in professional live sound setups, always high quality stuff!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: My mixer delivers signal to a pre for a pa system via xlr. would this best sit between the mixer and pre or between pre and pa speakers? do i need 2?**
A: I have a similar setup for home use, I do them as close to the source as possible so Mixer to other chain. You need 1 per xlr connection. You can also achieve this for free by disconnecting the ground from your cable at the source end. All this does is float the ground. ART DTI Dual Transformer Isolator Hum Eliminator is a better option and much cheaper. I have tested all 3 methods, ground removing from cable on one end, the ice cube and the ART box all achieve the same results.

**Q: is the good for in between my pa amp and receiver?**
A: Yes, I have mine between my pre-amp and Sound Broad.

**Q: Will this remove the "white noise" or "Static" noise coming from the speakers?**
A: The Ice Cube is a ground loop isolator and removes buzz or hum completely caused by ground loop. A ground loop is caused by the interconnection of electrical equipment that results in there being multiple paths to ground, so a closed conductive loop is formed. White Noise and Static are not really the same thing. White Noise is a constant wash of several frequencies. Static is usually clicks and pops like bacon sizzling. I'd also want to know if your issue is with a computer or a stand alone audio system. I suggest you google all these terms (ground loop, line hum and buzz, static, white noise) to help diagnose the problem.

**Q: Can this be used with a Blue Icicle and if so, how?**
A: I do not own a blue icicle but it seems it would. one end is male other is female. Icicle is female so plug into male side cable other end. should chain fine. However unsure if it'll solve your problem. You can float your ground on a spare cable by disconnecting the ground shield from the housing on one end. It's safe, on the source side.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixed my USB related ground loop issue

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ IMPROVE YOUR BASS SOUND!
*by P***L on February 27, 2023*

Pro bass player here.....play many gigs with big pro sound systems, and need to provide a DI out of my bass head. I use the Icecube every time, and get compliments on how great the bass signal sounds. Not only does it isolate the signal (no hum), but it also has the added benefit of smoothing out and improving the sound. How? It is a high quality isolation transformer - which is an inductor, which naturally helps gently roll off very low and high frequencies and buffers transients, providing a very slight *compressor* effect (its power supply equivalent is a *choke* or inductor, which helps cushion the supply from voltage swings). Your sound will instantly improve with the IceCube. Every soundman I worked with loves the bass signal from this thing! Just buy it, and use it on your DI output. It's not just for reducing hum - you will hear the difference - a warmer and more punchy bass sound!
