## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this have an extension that anchors it into the ground or does it have to installed over an existing lamp post?**
A: It has to be installed over an existing post secured in the ground.  They recomend a 4x4 but I had a 3 inch round aluminum pole set in concrete so I made wooden adapter brackets so the post thought it was going over a 4x4.  Pictures available on request.

**Q: can the light be posted on side with this post?**
A: No it is designed to be mounted on the top of the post.

**Q: My lamp is on a metal post (I beleive it is 3 inches in diameter).  Can I use this post (hollow??) as a decorative cover to my existing metal post?**
A: That is what we did. My husband did make some wooden blocks for both ends of the sleeve (inside) that fit over the post to give it some additional rigidity

**Q: Is this post paintable?**
A: It is not recommended that the post be painted or stained as it will reduce the UV inhibitor and impact the outside layer causing it to warp or crack.  It will also void the warranty.
