HENCKELS International (1 stick dude) (Buick) is made in Spain or China with German steel, this line has a wider spread of of cost & quality. The forged made in Spain (you can tell by the bolster extending down the blade) is very high quality with very little difference from made in Germany except the high cost of making anything in Germany compared to Germany. Then there are stamped blades (Chevy) which still use the German formula steel but are much cheaper to manufacture in China and to a lesser amount in Spain all knives will get you to where you want to go but the Cadillac and Buick are more comfortable & classy whereas the Chevy is more affordable and is fine for most people to park in the kitchen. **Q: Are the kitchen shears made in Germsny also?** A: The shears on my set say Made in China. Everything else is Made in Germany. **Q: Are the steak knives made in Germany...also are the edges serrated?** A: Yes they are stamped "Made in Germany". There are a couple of the larger utility knives that are serrated but most are not.
