The punch has no guide as to where it actually punches, so be warned that you'll have to line up your paper by trial and error. HINT FROM MY IMPATIENT SELF TO YOU: The elephant placement on the punch exterior itself is PRETTY close to the actual thing. Also, punch paper with a right side or desired textured side - UPSIDE DOWN! Trust me! If you don't you'll be flipping all those cute little 3D elephant ears back the right way and cursing yourself for not noticing!I loved this little tool and it did a wonderful job of helping make me look like I knew what in Jesus name I was doing.
