All I know for sure is that once you have one of these blankets, you'll love it. I keep mine on the bed year round...it's perfect!! Easy to wash/dry, light weight, just perfect. Who cares about the specifics....I LOVE this blanket!!! **Q: Does the blanket need to be washed to remove the smell.** A: Purchased one on 9/20/17. After 4 cycles in the washer, the smell of VOCs are still there...slowly decreasing after each wash. Dust and mites will always land on your blanket! You can get dust mite covers for a duvet however.
