If your cat is a dependent cat and would beg you for a treat, it will definitely work. I foster cats and I had a few of them. I trained a cat to do high fives in 3 days! but the other cat doesn't actually care about the treat to be interested. Watch some videos on youtube. They may need more time but it is so fun actually! **Q: Does this work for cats?** A: Yes. It works great for my cat. If it's a little to loud for your cat you can always cup your hand around it to muffle some the sound. **Q: Do both have the same click sound or tone?** A: Yes, they sound the same. We use ours to train our cat. **Q: I am going to try this for my dog who is tone deaf and can onlyhear me clap and cluck. I want to use it for recall. Does anyone know the sound range ?** A: I can’t speak for your dog but my wife and I have two German Shepherd puppies. We live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere so there isn’t a lot of extraneous noises around. Aside from occasional wildlife making noise it’s pretty quite around here. That said our puppies (now four months old) have wandered as far away as a quarter of a mile. When we click the clickers they come running. We love the clickers. Don’t know how well they’d work in the city but the clickers are pretty loud.
