The whole reason silicone baking mats have become popular is that that’s exactly what they’re for! You can prep on them and then put them straight in the oven - on a metal tray or straight onto shelf, I’ve done both. They save on the old throwaway greaseproof paper etc, and release foods much more easily. This particular mats specs say it’s safe up to the temperature specified in the item description. I suspect they’re covering their backs and it will be ok at rather higher temperatures, but I suppose we do that at our own risk. **Q: Is this good for rolling fondant icing , that’s all I need it for ?** A: I like mine I make lots of tasty baking. I do my bread flour in it I do find it does stick like glue so need extra flour. But with fondant this would be softer wouldnt it I think it would be fine with that just bit mess if you have lots of flour and water like bread making easy to wash up, and clean so I love my one. Easy to store away as well ;) **Q: Do u get the rolling pin also** A: No I did not get a rolling pin. I bought the advertised single pastry mat. But subsequently bought a stainless steel rolling pin. I find wooden rolling pins attract mould over time. I couldn’t afford a marble rolling pin which is best. Easy to clean good quality ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great the first time I used it... *by A***W on 27 June 2020* I would have given it 5* as on the first use it was fantastic and kneading bread on it was so easy needing no extra flour and the dough didn’t stick. However, I then washed it in soapy water on both sides and when I used it again it didn’t stick to the surface. I now have to wet the underside for it to stick to the surface and that only lasts a short while before having to weigh it down with heavy objects.
