Vacuum bagging does not need such a deep vacuum, but would benefit from higher flow rates, quieter operation, lower cost, etc. So, I think that this pump would work but it would be slower than you might expect. **Q: what is its' operating voltage? /** A: 115 VAC 60 hz 7.1A ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Robinair doesn't disappoint *by M***N on June 14, 2021* I've been in commercial refrigeration/HVAC for 31 years. Robinair has always put out a great vacuum pump. It came with a container of their vacuum pump oil. Well built, heavy duty, pulls down below 100 microns quickly. This is a mid-sized unit, just right for the service van. If you're doing grocery store stuff or a City Multi system, use a bigger capacity model. ### ⭐ S They used to be pretty good, NOT ANYMORE *by R***M on March 12, 2017* First, when checked, prepared with oil, turned on, the motor hummed and the pump was not running. I checked all, and tried once again over and over. After bumping it to try and loosen any bound internal issues it still did not run. Finally after many times turning it on and off, it started to run. I decided to test vacuum with a micron gauge attached directly to the pump fitting with a 3 inch brass adapter made just for that. It pulled down a vacuum to 600 microns quickly but after 5 minutes it only got to 450 and that was all it would get. The motor was getting so hot, you could not hold your hand on it. I don't think the isolation valve did anything at all. Evan with all connections tight, and valves shut, it leaks down so fast that there is something very wrong with this pump. This is not my first Rodeo with a/c vacuum pumps. I have been in the business for over 40 years. Maybe just a lemon, but I would definitely reconsider before I would purchase this or any other Robinair CoolTech pump. P.S They used to be pretty good, NOT ANYMORE!
