Haylee AcuRite Support Team **Q: how does this detect lightning? is it a radio-based detection? how accurate is it? can it be thrown off by EM interference, such as a powerful radio?** A: As far as I know lightning produces a signal at a certain frequency. I think it is 500 Khz. Yes the detector does pick up interference and will show it as such but will not log it as a strike on your HD display. Since it will detect any strike within a 40 Km radius you may not be aware of it and think it is interference. I do get the odd interference and it could be an electric motor start, cell phone or the neighbor's car ignition, maybe even an amateur radio station. Earlier models of detector had a problem but that has been fixed by Acurite. **Q: Will it work with 06088-RX display and Iris 5 in 1?** A: The Atlas Lightning Detector is not compatible with the Iris (5-in-1) Weather Station.
