Review: Delicious. - This coffee is delicious, and the roast is a really solid middle ground that gives you some of the acidity of a lighter roast while also delivering some of the more chocolatey notes of a darker roast. It balances nicely. The spice flavor Sumatran coffee is famous for is also quite prominent. I picked up one bag of this while looking to try new coffees, and have since ordered five more bags and stopped drinking much else. The flavor has been consistent across all the bags I've had. I'm very pleased with Allegro Coffee. I'd also like to say that the Swiss Water decaffeination process is top notch. I don't feel like I'm missing out on much, if any, flavor. The only thing I can think of to knock this coffee for is freshness. It doesn't have a roast date on the packaging, only an expiration date. It's still quite good, however, and has a fullness to the flavor you can only really achieve by having been roasted pretty recently. It doesn't have the really distinct, bold flavor coffee has when it's within a few days of roasting, but that tends to override the flavor of the coffee and leave you just tasting the fresh roast. You're supposed to let it off gas for a few days before you drink freshly roasted coffee anyway, so I can't really knock them for missing that window. This has a great flavor, and has really helped me transition. Make sure you use 2 scoops of grounds for each cup if you like a full flavor. It needs a little extra to get full flavored.
