Review: Hard to install, but with good reason - My 18 inch bandsaw rubber tires finally became less elastic and started getting loose on their wheels and almost came off while running, which was kinda scary. These are a different material than rubber, but once you get them on, they work well. They are hard to get on for a reason. They need to be very tight on the wheel to be safe and secure. You do not need to heat them in water and it is recommended that you don't because that can damage or weaken them. The easiest way to install is to take the wheel off the bandsaw and install 2 dowels on a board on a workbench. The first dowel is for the wheel to rotate on. The second dowel is just outside the outer diameter of the wheel and you use that dowel to force the tire onto the wheel by rotating the wheel. Still takes some strength, but it's not that hard and these tires can take the punishment well. Just look for the youtube videos that show this method.

Powermatic 18 inch bandsaw. Replaced upper wheel a couple of years ago and still running great. Lower wheel with original tire finally broke and replaced with this product. Forgot how tuff it was to install on wheel but fits perfectly once installed. Ordered this tire again as a spare.
