It was comfortable to wear, and I could see using it to throw a beach towel and swimsuit in it if needed as there was plenty of room in it. It did get a little hot on my back sometimes, but it was hot out and I wasn't surprised. It was nice alternative to my purse. I love that it folds up into a little pouch for storage! Overall a great little backpack. I am only giving it 4 stars since I didn't carry tons it and have only used it for a week and can't comment on durability.
