It gives me stability over most surfaces and allows me to work on my feet for hours without my hips bothering me. I tried a different one with a flat foam sole but sandal like velcro straps on top. It was too flat. It did not conform to my shoe sole, Skechers slip on with walking/ hiking sole. Overall felt awkward. I got this one and could not be more happy. I wear a size 7 womens and the small is perfect. Fits over and conforms to my shoe sole perfectly. It also has a great rubber bottom with traction grooves. It is much more similar to regular shoes. I broke my ankle where inside and outside vertical bones broken and ankle ball out of socket so lots of metal installed and relearning how to walk on it.
