Lacks the heft and sturdy feel of other name-brand introductory flutes, possibly due to use of thinner spec materials. Silver plating is quite good; small wrinkles noted on the key Y-arms, but only under close inspection. Interior bore is polished. Joint tenons and sockets a bit gritty out-of-the-box, but a little rubbing with a silver polishing cloth nicely smooths out the feel.
