It holds the laptop in place as advertised and the lid opens easily when I open the case. Assuming typing doesn't turn out to be any trouble, I may never take it out of this case.I only just got it an hour ago but it appears very sturdy, more so than I had anticipated, if I must be honest. The power plug and various wires and the tiniest 4TB external SSD that I recently bought fit nicely in the accessory compartment with some room to spare. If I didn't buy a trackball to go with this rig, a slimmer travel mouse would have fit in that compartment quite nicely.I doubt I'll use the shoulder strap unless I'm weighted down with other things and riding public transit but, since I have a car, I doubt I'll use the strap but it seems very serviceable. At this point, I'm either struggling to give you tidbits that I think you'll find handy or I'm just really enjoying this mechanical keyboard under my 98 wpm speed, lol.I hope I told you as much as you need to decide on this purchase.
