I wanted the 6" press rather than the 8", because that will work better for me. I received the round one with the polymer handle, which is the one I wanted. It's not super heavy, but I wanted a tool strong enough that I can press the burger into the grill, rather than just weigh it down. This press looks strong enough to do the job, and high quality enough to last a long time. The weight is more than heavy enough to hold down bacon, etc. The bottom surface is smooth like you would expect on a stainless-steel appliance, but not highly polished.
