But it can prevent food debris from soiling the table. They have a good heat insulation that protects the table well. Dark Gray is very beautiful. **Q: can these be cut down to a smaller size without the edges fraying?** A: Not sure about this, What I will say Is ours look like they have sealed edges so personally it’s not something I would attempt **Q: Does liquid go through them onto the table** A: Yes it does if you drop enough, they are almost woven nylon material which naturally have small holes. I think they are great as you can give them a quick wipe over if anything is dropped on them. **Q: Are these Non slip, i.e they don't slide on the table, rather than plates don't slip on top of them.** A: Yes our mats do tend to slide BUT that may be down to us having a glass top to protect the wood of the table. Otherwise the mats are great. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Useful & Attractive Place Mats *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 29 July 2026* Nice large size to accommodate place setting, glasses, etc. I like that the material is heatproof, non-slip & washable. Nice range of colours. The mats were folded in half in packaging but soon flattened out when laid on the table at room temperature. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great looking placemats *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 13 September 2026* These look great on my dining table.
