Review: Still not a Shure!! - The LP Gear n44-7 is compatible with the beloved Shure M44-7. They do work for all sorts of heavy scratching, BUT (and it's a big but) they need 2 grams more tracking force than the original Shure stylus. I'm sure that will lead to more record wear. I can set my original Shures at 2 1/2 grams and they stick to the grooves like gum on a hot day. The LP Gear n44-7 need 4+ grams to keep them from jumping out of the groove.

A: It’s a solid replacement but know that the image is incorrect... I’ve been trying it out for last couple weeks & it’s worth the $$

The LP Gear n44-7 is compatible with the beloved Shure M44-7. They do work for all sorts of heavy scratching, BUT (and it's a big but) they need 2 grams more tracking force than the original Shure stylus. I'm sure that will lead to more record wear. I can set my original Shures at 2 1/2 grams and they stick to the grooves like gum on a hot day. The LP Gear n44-7 need 4+ grams to keep them from jumping out of the groove.

It didn't fit my Shure M44-7 cartridge properly, and only got sound out of one speaker.
