It's a sweet black tea that goes down very smoothly. In terms of flavor, I felt that the vanilla notes overtake the others mostly, but still they compliment it very well. I added a heavy splash of milk to my cup along with 1 teaspoon of sugar, and it was perfect. If you want the usual bitterness from black tea then half sugar or going without may be preferable. Though the price of Harney & Sons tea leans more on the costly side, I think it's a worthy purchase for the quality they offer. The tins are beautiful, and the tea tastes exceptionally good. I am partial to Taylor's tea for their competitive prices along with quality, but I may be inclined to try more of Harney & Sons for their unique flavors!
