Review: Begrudgingly capitulating to wireless? Look no further! Will win over all mid-aged luddites - I had been an apple addict since age 10 and in many ways still am -- but in my 40s kinda slowed down on keeping up with the pads, pods, watches (so dorky) as much as I still live in the apple ecosystem. I swore I'd never buy any sorta wireless earpod and honestly beats headphones are still trash (for 4 years had purchased pairs only to have them break in a few months). But, between driving more these days, trying to have relatively private hands free convos while my young daughter is around, and recently tearing my achilles ... I had to find something convenient. I was astonished at how affordable, easy to use and decent sounding these EarPods are! Why would anyone spend upwards of 100$ or more for others? Convenience -- these are super easy to set up, sync, and get started Price -- I think these are quite simply the best at this price point 35-50$ Sound -- they are not sennheiser or bose, but given how much else you get, they sound great. The bass is legit and all else is clear enough without being tinny (I listen to mostly rock, electronic, jazz, and not a classical music snob about levels at all) ... the volume is a little lower than I prefer even when maxxed out, but perhaps thats for the better as they are indeed just loud enough -- sorta like the EarPods themselves, just really good enough. Charging -- the case really can handle 4 full charges ... which is great. The case itself also charges quickly, and I just leave mine on my cheap wireless charger pad. I also like that the case is not digital and fancy ... the basic look and feel suits my style moreso than led/digital read outs. Buttons -- I love that there is a tactile button that you can actually feel depress. Others where you just tap always leave me pressing the wrong number of times. You get used to the Taps and holds for volume, skipping tracks and calls ... it kinda becomes intuitive after a few days. Siri - works perfectly ... really kinda amazing, especially if you have any sorta smart devices in your home. The cast I have on is making this aspect even more convenient but being able to turn on lights, thermostats, Apple TVs with these pods is awesome. I can see myself possibly in the future wanting something with a bit more audio oomph down the road, but I've also read that many people end up using these as spares -- for their office, car etc. Couple of other notes -- you cant sync them to multiple devices ... but its easy enough to disconnect them. I tried them with my Apple TV (for late night movie viewing) and they were solid. There is another option on desertcart (vankyo) that also appear highly rated, but they were out of stock and I dont really like those glowing buds or that readout on the case. And for those new to the pods, just be sure you kinda keep the case in a convenient location as they kinda act like the home base for these things. Otherwise you'll lose them, or the kids/dog etc will definitely let curiosity get the better of them. Highly recommended for first time pod newbies, spares, and those looking for best budget options.
Review: Great cheap headphones - I've had these about two weeks now and they're actually pretty good for the price. Here's a few minutes of stream of consciousness regarding my experience so far: Comfort could definitely be improved, though I'm a little finicky with in-ear style headphones. The silicone(ish) earpieces get uncomfortable after about an hour and it takes a bit to figure out how to get it to sit right. If you aren't careful to equalize the pressure as you put them in, it sounds muffled and quiet. Battery life is impressive. I use them all the time. If you listen with just one ear for a bit, you can easily charge the other and switch for zero interruption. Kinda cool that you can use either one independently or both together; gets my inner electronics geek curious how they're doing that - it's a neat trick. Signal range is actually pretty impressive for what they are. I had expected it to be like 15ft being such a small device running bluetooth, but I've had them up to 30ft line of sight or maybe 15ft through two walls. Nice. Definitely adequate to set a phone by the kitchen sink and clean the entire room without any dropouts. Audio quality is a difficult thing to rate. I'm a musician and sound engineer so I'm pretty particular about saying something "sounds good". That said, for the average person, these are probably adequate but not remarkable. Most people like things pretty bass-heavy which these are not. They're slightly mids-heavy and medium fidelity, though they will respond (even if not evenly) across pretty much the full sound spectrum. The way you have them situated in your ears has a dramatic effect on the sound quality though so definitely lost a star for these earpiece sleeves and ergonomics. I can confirm they are at least IPX5 (splashing water in any direction) but they are absolute rubbish if you want to listen in the shower. Incredibly uncomfortable and they like to eject themselves from your ears at very inopportune moments. It is possible to pair one ear with one device and the other ear with a different device, but it's difficult to do and the moment you return either of them to the charging case, they synchronize again. The button on the earpieces takes a bit of force to press and I have yet to use it without messing up how it's positioned in my ear. It's mostly fine for hitting play/pause but the other controls are too cumbersome for me to find them useful. Taking phone calls on these works just fine with one ear or both. No complaints there. So yeah, if you want inexpensive wireless earbuds that are great for doing dishes, throwing under a pair of earmuffs while cutting the grass, working on cars, or even light exercise, I'd definitely recommend these. If you're looking for something you're comfortable wearing for an entire day, sound amazing, have actual noise cancelling, or function as a status symbol, probably keep looking.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good
*by O***V on November 6, 2025*

First (and most crucial) impression: they sound great; not only for the price, but in general. I was about to return them earlier today. After having them plugged in all morning at my desk, I grabbed them for my lunchtime walk on the Green River Trail down here in the Seattle-area’s industrial valley. I became quite irritated when the buds informed me after five minutes that there battery was and they would be ceasing operations momentarily. I plugged them back in for the rest of the day , thinking maybe Jumbo, Free Willy, or even Greaseball had perhaps used my charger for something and perhaps only recently plugged my buds back in. They still showed no charge when I was getting ready for bed and wanting to listen to my audiobook. “Well this is just absurd” I said to Me. I ran to their website, downloaded the user guide (tossed the physical one they came with the set) and started troubleshooting. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had been putting them in their case backwards - this, rendering charging impossible. It was a tad bit embarrassing when I realized I was essentially channeling my inner Boomer, but, in my defense: these are the first set of truly wireless earbuds I’ve ever purchased (previous Bluetooth headphones had a cable connection between the two ear inserts). I sort of just figured they wouldn’t even go in the slot designed for the other ear’s device. Having had the error of my thinking corrected, the buds are now happily charging over on a wireless charging pad and am looking forward to resuming their usage. The only other complaint I can think of is that I don’t care for the feature where you can tap this side or that and change things like the volume or go into a different mode. I’ll never use that and hate accidentally bumping those buttons if I am fiddling with them in my ear. Overall though, these are a great value. The sound is comparable to my Bose Bluetooth sets that recently died after 5 years of continual use. No complaints on that department. I’m not expecting that kind of longevity out of these, but maybe a solid 18-24 months of usage would be great.
