**Q: Is the inner channel (with rubber thing) required when installing this with 7x9.6 Fizik oval carbon rails?**
A: Yes. You need the inner rubber piece.

**Q: Totally new to this so don't laugh if it's a dumb question. But do you need a post that will accommodate a 1 bolt clamp or is that irrelevant?**
A: You will need a one bolt seat post.

**Q: What torque should be used for carbon rails...the clamp saids 12nm...wouldnt 12nm crack the rails?  Thanks!**
A: My answer will definitely be different than the others. At 12nM, the carbon rails of my saddle get a little warped and skews a little to the left, and I've more than a few bolts going to 12nM. I weight 240, and 10nM has been plenty to keep the saddle in place, and help protect my saddle rails a little more

A: No, this is the one for 7mm dia. alloy rails, not the tall, rectangular carbon ones like you have.  Definitely don't use this one as it can damage the carbon rails.
