But unlike many folks, I wash them by hand and store them in a wood knife holder inside a kitchen drawer. I also only use them on a wood cutting board. That level of care insures that the blades and handles won’t be damaged. I have used them almost daily for over two years, and I’ve only touched them up with a steel. They have never required re-sharpening, and they still look new. I’m confident this bread knife will perform equally well. For purposes of comparison, the upper knife in the photos is my current Santoku (label is intentionally blurred). The lower one is obviously this new bread knife.
