I had acquired a used polyurethane underbody spoiler with numerous cracks and rips and was able to restore it to almost perfect condition, despite having sections where the plastic was completely missing -- it's now ready for paint. While it's expensive, I cannot believe how well this stuff works, it's easy to work with, has a relatively fast cure time and is very easy to sand for a seamless look. Or is there any product application between this and primer coating?** A: Good product. You can use primer over this product, myself, I use an epoxy primer for flexibility. Which can be reduced and used as a sealer as well. **Q: I need to repair Metton on an old snowmobile. Will this product work? I see the product number is 5895 for the 5oz but x5887 for the other sizes?** A: I'm not sure what" Metton" is I used the 5887 on an unknown, to me, thin hard plastic material and it's just OK. I think it's meant for softer plastic type material like flexible plastic car bumpers. I think it will be ok on my application because it's in an area that should not see too much abuse. You may wish to consider the manual options; the 3M 08571 Standard Manual Applicator, or the 3M 08117 MixPac Applicator. There is also a pneumatic option; the 3M 09930 Performance Pneumatic Applicator. **Q: What solvents or cleaners do you use for cleanup? I may use a squeegee applicator with this product.** A: Before it’s actually cured it can be easily cleaned up with Mineral spirits or lacquer thinner. I used it to rebuild a mustang nose went back together great! Mix equal parts “ black &white “ on a plastic or cardboard piece until it is thourally mixed apply to a clean sanded piece and 30-40 minutes later you are sanding to a paintable finish . Drill out stripped out license plate holes and fill , let set 40 minutes then redrill to correct size.
