I highly recommend this 5-star product to any parents looking to enrich their children's learning experience! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great learning aid for the summer *by A***L on March 14, 2026* I love Summer Bridge ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Activity book for keeping your son's classroom skills fresh over the summer. *by G***9 on July 21, 2016* Purchased both this one and the 6-7 Grade version for my son after failing 7th grade math and English to work on over the summer. The book is nicely laid out and breaks down into daily lessons that primarily focus on english and math but also throw in a little science, geography and history here and there. We have been using the books for about a month now and I have my son completing one daily lesson from each book each day. I then check his answers when I get home from work (as well as any required supporting work for math) and help him review what he got wrong and why. With that said, I often will come home to find at least one section done completely wrong or he will hold off to do a math section because he either did not understand the instructions or did not comprehend the subject matter. Because of this I have taken to reviewing the next day's lesson with him the night before to see if he has any questions. Most of the non-math sections are multiple choice. Every so often (about once every 5 lessons or so) there is an essay or writing assignment. The book usually only allows a few lines for writing and as I want my son to write more I am making him do those either on another sheet of paper or typing them up on the computer. He is finding the 7-8 grade book a little more challenging than the 6-7 book, which is good but the lessons are very similar between the two books for both levels on each activity day. Overall I think the Summer Bridge series and this book are well written and having the answers in the back of the book are helpful. I do think the physical exercise portions of the book should be dropped. Having one section dedicated to rotating your arms or doing jumping jacks is a waste of space that could be put in a side note section and include another lesson for the day instead. The one thing that would make this a 5 star rating was if they provided at least one example in each section as to how to do the problem. Other than that no complaints and I am seeing an improvement in my sons efforts and comprehension with most of the material.
