    Hi brow (I think) with little substance

A controversial proposal to shut down the Sheridan to auto traffic and convert it to community use caught my interest and wanting to do a little research, I found this title on Amazon.The author provides an excellent explanation of the problems posed by the Sheridan and the difficulties in addressing those problems. Unfortunately, no solutions are offered. The "13 Projects" of the title are 13 vague and brief ideas presented in very scholarly (I think) but generic terms.It is very obvious that I (as an engineer and a member of the general public) am not the target audience - my guess is that only urban planning academic types would be appreciative of this work. And that is unfortunate - the opportunity to influence the public discussion on this subject may now be lost.
