After many years of anticipation, the Wok Shop has finally been able to import this wonderful rice steamer from Thailand. The hand-woven bamboo basket sits in the aluminum rice pot to create perfect aromatic Thai jasmine sticky (sweet) rice. No other steaming method creates sticky rice like this authentic set. Pot Ð 10" dia., 8.5" ht. Basket Ð 10" ht. x 10" x 14.5."

Review: Amazing Product - After living in Southeast Asia for about a year, I fell in love with sticky rice and the process of making it! I was thrilled to get my basket to make my own sticky rice at home while in America. I didn't realize this product came all the way from Thailand until it came in the mail and I was overjoyed to see the label "Chiang Mai." It works wonderfully. In the larger basket there are a few small holes that the rice may fall out of, but considering it is sticky rice, this isn't a huge problem in the steaming process. The small baskets are perfect, just like the ones I used in Laos. Love this! And I love that it's a family company!

I was surprised that I could taste the earthy flavor of the basket, I also love clay and Korean granite bowls for the same reason. The basket fits great over my standard steam pot. No need to buy the pot, I am sure most people have a pot that will fit the basket just fine, all you need is steam. Go to youtube and look up how to make rice in these baskets, what a wonderful treat. I have only used it a couple of times, therefore I don't yet know how well it will wear.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do you get rid of the bad smell and the way it discolors the rice and water?**
A: The smell goes away with use its the new bamboo that u smell . I dont know what you mean about discoloration of your rice and water. You dont submerge your rice in water it has never turned my rice or water colors.

**Q: Can you use this with a normal pot underneath?**
A: You probably can, if the pot is deep.  You do not want the basket to be in the water.

**Q: Does it come with a lid?**
A: No, the sticky rice steamer does not come with a lid. I use the metal lid that goes with the pot that I nest it in. Happy steaming!

**Q: what is made of copper that the description said is the "material?"**
A: I am not sure why it says copper. The basket is just a woven basket.
