After all the fumes settled, this laquer did what it says it will do and it's been several months of my board showing zero wear despite wet towels hung on it daily. Also, it did leave a not quite smooth finish, but that's pretty expected with spray paints and after the second coat it evened out a lot! I'd definitely use it again! For a 3 foot by 6" board with 3 coats, I have more than half of a can left.
