NOT Italian made - Bormioli Rocco Glass Fido Jars
These jars are just fine for fermenting. I really wanted Italian glass for the price paid. All printed materials say made in Italy. The cover of the jar says made in Italy. The arrived very well packed in a box clearly stating MADE IN CHINA. Isn't it about time we put a stop to the culture of lying that's so pervasive in the U.S. and the world?

Not airtight!
Beware. These are not "hermetically sealed" and "airtight" as described. If you turn the "sealed" container upside down the liquid pours out around the silicone gasket.

Hardware gets pitted and corroded after cleaning a few times.
LOVE these jars! It’s the durability/quality of the hardware that bothers me. The parts come off for easy cleaning, and it doesn’t take a strong man to reattach the lid to the jar like other brands, however the metal has started to get corroded and pitted only after 4-5 cleanings. Have only washed them in soapy water for a few seconds then dried them right away. Not sure how to preserve this hardware besides oiling it.

Decent seal
Ok, what I’m using these for they work great. Making Tepache. Be aware they do not hold pressure at all. For fermenting it actually works great because it just slightly leaks allowing pressure to bleed off. If you are wanting it to be sealed super tight, not the case. For regular dry storage would probably be fine.

Questionable seals
Jars are decent, but the seals are garbage; definitely not airtight.

Cracked lid
The jars appear to be a decent value, however, one of these arrived with a cracked lid, and without a printer there is no way to return this during the lock downs in America. The jar still works for the most part, but is not airtight. It's very frustrating to be sent a damaged product.

Well Designed Jars! Worth the investment!
Scoured to find sturdy yet pretty jars for a pantry refresh. These are pricey when you are buying more than a couple, but they are worth the investment. The glass is solid and the best part is the airtight lid. No matter if it’s chocolate chips or flour the stuff in it stays really well. They were not wobbly, no issues with the lids and they all came well packaged with no damage. You get what you pay for and these are worth it. Go for the larger sizes for the flour, oats etc, the smaller sizes are good for couscous, powdered sugar. breadcrumbs etc.

Excellent quality
These storage jars are superb. I use them to make pickles and sauerkraut. The neck is wide enough to get my hands in to pack the jar, and the sturdy gasket fits well with no leakage. Slightly shorter than a wine bottle, they fit on the top shelf of the frig, too. Arrived quickly, no cracks or chips, wrapped very well in bubble wrap.

Big ole jars.
Great size for making Kimchi, until you realise that you now have too much kimchi.

Jars do not seal totally tight
The size and appearance of the jars are perfect. They worked great for pickled eggs and sausage. They came very well packaged. The only bad thing is that they do not seal tight eg if you were to tip a full jar it would drip. As long as the jars are upright they will serve there purpose for me but a tighter seal would have been nice

Undeniably Good Value
Both sets arrived intact and well-packaged - no breakage at all. Very much like a giant mason jar - glass thickness is decent. The opening is large enough to put one's hand through withour the need to dislocate one's thumb - always advantageous. More importantly, one can easily remove one's hand as well. For reference, I typically wear a large construction glove. Not huge hands but big enough. The clamp and seal work very well - important for food-stuffs. One thing to note is the seal, which is initially found in the jar, leaves an odd smell inside. Washing them out with water and vinegar a couple of times did get rid of the smell, and the seals when put in place don't seem to give off any further smell when in use.Definitely happy with the purchase.

Love it
I ordered this product twice, because first product has partially damaged on rubber band and the jar. I asked to amazon to replacement but this seller blocked the replacement so I had to return it and re-ordered.I was hesitate to order to compared with cheaper brand, but I know this brand has high quality and long last. so I gave it a try. guess what? it is perfect! sturdy and high quality product. I bought it for cold brew but will definitely use it with other purpose later too. love it!

Good quality jars
Well made as expected for the Bormioli Rocco brand. Thick clear glass. Large size. Sturdy clip with rubber ring to create air tight seal. Looks nice on the counter, storing rice and flour in them. If you’re hoping to scoop out the contents rather than pour out (as the jars are heavy to lift when filled with contents), keep in mind that the opening may not be large enough. I have 2 types of 1-cup measuring cups, one of them fits well into the opening, the other does not. Large enough though for the average hand to fit in for washing. Would buy again.
