Addicting but also a little annoying

The wife and I have finished this game twice on our wii. Well we played it until it froze and we had to unplug our wii but we got to the end. Both times, however, it told us on level 97 that we had failed. It let us finish playing but would not let us buy the remaining buildings. After level 99 we got the celebration screen and it locked up the console.Getting to the end is reward in of itself so the fact that it doesn't let us finish building the city doesn't really matter. The real annoyances are these:1) Poor contrast. This game is really hard on your eyes after you have played it for awhile. Too many of the items look similiar enough to other items and on the dark blue background it makes it challenging.2) The game skips levels. I am not sure why but you can finish level 23 and for whatever reason it skips to 27. This is provided as an example. The skipping levels appears to be random.3)Rotating bonuses. You work and work to get the better bonuses but then instead of being able to choose the one you want to play with you are forced back the hammer every 8 levels. My wife is really good at this game, far better than me, but there are certain levels in the 90's that she cannot win with the early bonuses (hammer, lightning, bomb, time, cross). Perhaps some massively elite player can but these kinds of game are supposed to be for casual gamers, right?Despite the problems the game is loads of fun but I wouldn't buy it new if I were you.

    Cradle of Rome good fun

After purchasing the Cradle of Rome for the Wii, because I could not purchase a disk of the game Bejeweled or Bejeweled 2, I began to read the reviews. The cart after the horse so to speak. I became very worried that the game would not function properly on the Wii. So far the game runs correctly, no freeze ups, only once did it not save the game as expected, could have been how I exited the game the first time on the Wii. The only scare I had was after removing the disk to play other games when the disk was reinserted the Wii did not recognize the disk as readable. After some attempts to get it to read the disk from different directions it was able to read and load the information. As for the enjoyment level...Great. The colors make it a bit harder to recognize the blocks on some shapes but overall not bad to play. The print on the on screen information is really TOOOOOO Small. I am older and wear glasses but the printing is so small the shapes of some letters can only be distinguished by deduction from the rest of the letters in the word. This does not diminish the enjoymnent of the game. The software was a gift for my other half and she spent 8 hrs straight playing it on the 3rd day of ownership. So far she has not tried the second game she received, Tetris party, since the 20th of December.(her birthday). She was able to get above the 49th level after days of playing. She loves it and says maybe more then the game she really wanted...Bejeweled.

The Perfect Game, with only 1 hitch!!

Absolutely love this game because I can spend an entire afternoon playing it without getting frustrated. This is actually the 2nd game that I am buying because the 1st game, once I finished Level 100, it bombed out. After winning the game, when re-inserting the disk and once it loaded, the screen would go black and a continual buzz would sound. And turning the game off was not an option because I had to remove disk, turn off Wii system (all while sound was blaring and screen black) and then turn off electric power to unit. Then I got my TV screen back again and sound stopped. There was a contact number on pamphlet inside game box, but it doesn't connect. Hopefully this game will not die if/when I finish Level 100 again, because I won't buy it a 3rd time. But other than that issue, this game is perfect, challenging, fun, and doesn't cause stress..
