They were perfect and we used them all with no leaks. The only downside is that they are harder to wash than regular water bottles because they can't go in the dishwasher (although we washed the tops in the dishwasher with no issue). We washed them in soapy water and then set them in the sun to dry to reuse. No issues and definitely great for travel!Edit a few weeks later: Now that we're home, we're having trouble getting them to dry fully inside. If it's sunny out, we can usually set them out and get the inside dry but it's a struggle. Annoying. Have used for a family hike with younger kids and came handy as there was no leaks plus was light weighted.Only downside is the detachable lid is hard to keep track of and have already lost couple of them. Thankfully it doesn't leak a lot without it. N ofcourse having numbers helps.Kids were tempted to drink due to its style and bright colors. I like that water flows well tru the spout. Have tried it in my backpack and does not leak when spout is closed. It will stand on its own on a flat surface, however as you finish most the water it may not stand. When empty it flattens out so it doesnt take up much space. Took off one star because you really need to work to get 16 oz in the bottle.
