It can be intimidating, frustrating and outright expensive. There is no right way to accomplish this but there are certainly a heck of a lot of wrong ways to go about it. This particular kit has a great presentation. Whether you are an experienced gray beard (in which case you've likely a cornucopia of different parts to choose from already), a student, or just a hobbyist, this kit offers a great variety of of discrete and passive components. The parts themselves appear to be of high quality, I cannot say I have tested every last component, but I have spot checked and have found what I have tested to be within what the datasheets for the components call for.The resistors come in a very nice binder notebook with about 14 pages of resistors that can hold 12 different values. Very nice and professional presentation. I wish there was a 2nd notebook for capacitors, however, this would have made the cost of the kit much much higher. All said and done, this is a great starter kit. I don't recommend this kit for repair folks because they require kits that have a great variety of sizes. This kit tries to be consistent in presenting components in the "middle ground" of 0805 SMD package size. Great for prototyping, building or experimenting. Everything fits in a nice handy box that measures about 8 X 3.5 IN. One could probably get the same kit much cheaper directly from China, but like anything, you take your chances. This kit appears to have had some thought put into the selection of components. But...These pieces are very tiny, one cant use fingers to pick it up, tweezers only. As of now I don't have any idea how to work/built progects with micro parts as there is simply no breadboard available.
