It is well made but the design won't fit every type of bike, I had to cut part of it to have it fit just right. In my case, I decided to have it welded into the frame rather than put additional holes into the frame. the final product was seamless after I painted it. **Q: Does this fit for front disk brakes? I have a trek circa 2009. The fork has a single threaded hole in each side. Not sure what type of mount it needs.** A: The part is specifically made for rear brake. I decided to convert the bike to disc brakes. I was able to complete the project myself with little trouble. The only problem I really had was this bracket. When I got the calipers and was test fitting the front and the back to be sure that bolt holes lined up on the front forks and rear frame the rear was way off. After doing some research I found that Trek, Fisher and Giant bikes made between 2000 and 2009 used this adapter for their rear calipers. So I bought it, while trying to mount the caliper to the adapter the bolt was off by maybe 1/8 of an inch or less. I could not get the holes to line up and was going to strip the threads if I forced it. I live an hour away from the nearest bike shop so I called a bike shop that I have taken my bike to before and asked about the problem. Basically they told me that I would have to drill the hole out to make it larger. I work at manufacturing plant and have access to a machine shop. I myself did not machine the hole out but one of my guys did. He made the hole on one side just big enough for the bolt to get to the threads on the caliper. In all it was a success. The bolt holes lined up on the frame just fine.
