I ordered it on the Thursday, and it arrived on Saturday morning.Packaging. Mine came in a cardboard box, inside that, the headboard was wrapped in a large polythene bag and there was also some bit of cardboard tacked onto the corners for extra protection. The bag and the corners are stapled on, so you have to be a bit careful removing these or it leaves sharp bits at the back.Internally, the headboard seems to be made of a single piece of wood, I'm guessing this is chipboard and it appears to be about 12mm thick. The covering and padding are mounted to this and then stapled to the back. There is also a black liner on the back, you can't see the wood.It came with couple of struts to mount it to the bed, and also some screws, which I think might be for the bed too. It looked as if the struts needed to fastened with wood screws to the back of the headboard, there's a couple of places marked for this. I didn't use these so didn't investigate further. I made four brackets from metal so that I could fasten the board directly to the wall behind the bed.The headboard looks nice, I put it just above the mattress so that I get the full benefit of it's depth.
