But those lamps were excessively bright for the location, and they cast an uncomfortably cold, intense, white beam that could not be moderated. So I was delighted to find this replacement! I’ve now swapped out three original lights for this model. They look great and work perfectly, as described.These lovely shaded lamps cast a warm glow and dim down beautifully. They are plenty bright for reading in a dark camper (max. 173 lumens) and they can dim down for a mellow “candlelight” effect. I’m not inclined to keep the blue-ring night light on in the dark, but it can easily be tapped to “off." As other reviewers have noted, the materials are solid, the build quality is excellent, and the installation simple (you might need to switch wires if you get the polarity wrong on the first try, but don’t worry…no harm done).
