I usually just throw it right on the smoker beside whatever I’m cooking and it works great. It’s sturdy, heavy duty, and easy to clean. Definitely feels like quality cast iron. The only thing that threw me off was the basting brush in the pictures looked like it had a cast iron handle, but it’s actually plastic. The brush head is also smaller than I expected. That said, it is easy to clean and take apart. Just know you can’t leave the brush sitting in the pot while it’s in the smoker because of the plastic handle. Overall, really handy little tool if you barbecue a lot.

I use this all the time for melting butter for basting, heating up barbecue sauce, and reducing glazes while I’m smoking meat. I usually just throw it right on the smoker beside whatever I’m cooking and it works great. It’s sturdy, heavy duty, and easy to clean. Definitely feels like quality cast iron. The only thing that threw me off was the basting brush in the pictures looked like it had a cast iron handle, but it’s actually plastic. The brush head is also smaller than I expected. That said, it is easy to clean and take apart. Just know you can’t leave the brush sitting in the pot while it’s in the smoker because of the plastic handle. Overall, really handy little tool if you barbecue a lot.
