## Description

Kinesio Taping - Elastic Therapeutic Athletic Tape Tex Classic - Beige – 2 in. x 13 ft

Review: The Most Supportive and Long Lasting Kinesiology Tape I've Used - My mom took a kinesiology taping class for continuing credits and introduced me to this tape. It's both supportive and has the best stick of everything I've tried so far. This stuff really sticks for days with showers, sweat, changing clothes and bed sheets at night. That being said, if you frequently want to take it off and reapply, it can irritate your skin. Be prepared to leave it on, which is generally the goal. The tape fabric is on the thicker and stronger end of the spectrum as far as kinesiology tape goes. I've found it to be very supportive and helpful for ankle, knee and connective tissue recovery. I get a good 3-5 days or more from one taping, which saves time and money in the long run. There are plenty of PT videos to demonstrate good taping techniques. I recommend watching a few for reference. (I've seen folks on desertcart with videos where they touch the sticky part of the tape, so it's no wonder people can't get any tape to stick using that method.) If you're not use to taping, it's awkward at first getting it on right, but eventually gets easier with practice. (A less expensive, less sticky tape can be used to practice if you need to get your technique down first. That will save money and skin removal if you try several times in one sitting. It's especially challenging when you're twisting in funny positions and trying to see what you're doing.) In short, to get the most bang out of your buck, wash your hands and skin first and let everything completely dry. Leaving at least 1.75 - 2" at each end that is applied without stretch prevents the tape from wanting to recoil at the ends, which will keep it in on longer. (The tape is 2" wide for reference.) Apply without touching the sticky part at all, this makes a huge difference. This can be achieved by not pulling off all the paper backing at once. Hold the tape with the paper still on the sticky part as you apply. Fold the tape to crease the paper and tear / break the paper at the crease. Start from around 2" from one end (or the middle) and remove the paper from the inside out. Hold it at the end with the paper backing still on and peel sections as you lay them down (Watch a video to see this). If you apply multiple strips get them on at the same time so everything stays clean (residue free) and dry. And finally, lightly and vigorously rub the applied tape with the paper just removed (printed side glides better than shiny side) to create some friction and heat so the tape adheres better to the skin. Take care not to catch the edges of the tape when rubbing. You can round the corners when you first cut your strips to help from catching an edge later. Blot the tape dry with a towel out of the shower rather than rub it.
Review: Good quality - skin friendly - I tried another brand first which was precut and somehow it gave me a bad rash. While the one my PT used never gave me a rash. Then I checked the brand and bought the same. It works like a charm and doesn’t give me a rash

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many rolls are in there?**
A: There is one roll, measuring 2 inches wide and 13 feet long.

**Q: How thick is Kinesio tape?**
A: It's not very thick at all. I wouldn't be able to measure it! Very flexible and comfortable when worn for several days. Easy to cut and apply. Easy to remove, doesn't leave any adhesive. Exactly like what my physical therapist applies. Be sure and round the corners before applying, as that helps it stay on longer. Be sure and look up the best way to apply it to your particular body part, stretch it appropriately to apply correct pressure and be sure to not stretch it in the last 1-2 inches. There are lots of YouTube videos to show how to correctly apply it to any body part. I use it on my ankle for an Achilles injury, and my knees that are loosening after total knee replacements. Have also used it on my CMC, but that's harder to apply as you have to use a split-tape procedure for part of it. Anyway, it works very well on multiple body parts, stays on through showering and activity, is comfortable, and is similar to the brand my P/T uses. Plus I like all the color/pattern options.!

**Q: Curiuos : can this tape be used on drum sticks to supply a better grip, in lieu of specific drumstick tapes?**
A: Honestly, I’m not a drummer so I’m not sure. From a quick Google search it looks like drumstick tapes are more plastic-y like electrical tape. Kinesiotape is much more cloth-y, and a little more stretchy. Kinesiotape would stick similarly to a drumstick and you could stretch it while putting it on so it’s not wrinkled on the drumstick. I’m not sure how those changes would affect the drummers ability to play though.

**Q: Is this pre-cut?**
A: No

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does seem to help
*by D***Y on October 6, 2013*

I bought Kenesion Tex Classic tape to help me with my Plantar Fasciitis. I bought KT TAPE PRO Synthetic Elastic Kinesiology 20 Pre-Cut 10-Inch Strips at the same time; Kenesio was less expensive and I figured I would "practice" with it before using the more expensive KT. So I started with the Kinesio... for two 'treatments' or wraps. I have to say that I like the Kinesio better than the KT. First, it just seems to provide better support. Second, I used the Kinesio twice for almost a week each time with no allergies, skin problems, etc. However, after using the KT after the first time, for less than time than the Kinesio, my skin was all dried out and peeling in a number of areas so it seems that there is something in the adhesive that my foot didn't like. And last, the KT did not stay on my foot as long as the Kinesio did. Bottom line, I would buy the Kinesio again. If you use the Kinesio, remember to round off the corners; it will stay on much longer. 90 degree corners will start to come off a lot faster than rounded edges. The KT was nice in that it came with rounded corners. ( I used the KT as the pattern for rounding my Kinesio tape.) The taping did seem to help lessen the pain of the fasciitis and allow me to spend more time on my feet. I watched several videos before deciding on how to tape it and tried a couple of different patterns before finding one that worked best for me. I also purchased a night splint and heel inserts and the overall treatments seems to help unless I do more than normal standing or walking.
